金曲歌王黃立行2011年和「親密愛人」徐靜蕾演完《親密敵人》後，幾乎在演藝圈銷聲匿跡，相隔４年推出新片《平安島》，飾演探險隊長，在森林、海邊拍片２個月吃盡苦頭，因為他最怕蚊子，「沒辦法和蚊子溝通」，每天和人討論該噴什麼牌子的防蚊液。

該片由韓國導演張允炫執導，黃很喜歡其成名作《愛的肢解》，認為導演很有想法，畫面感很強；他自從演了《杜拉拉升職記》，找他演出的多是愛情文藝片，但他不想重複，所以接了《平安島》，下半年會再拍１部動作片。

另一個吸引他的原因是戴立忍，當年他拍《台北晚九朝五》由戴執導，這回一起拍戲，戴立忍一直慫恿他開車、騎重機去「越野」，在沙漠睡覺看星光；但他是宅男，總是推說「打電動就好」。
